Amazon.com Product Description The DR-100 dreadnaught is Epiphone's best selling acoustic. All the basic elements you want--traditional shape Mahogany back and sides, Select Spruce top, Rosewood fingerboard and bridge make this a great entry-level instrument. Epiphone's best selling acoustic.
Mahogany body with Select Spruce top. | Rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays. | Body Tonewoods The top of the DR-100 is made from select spruce, while the back and sides are constructed from mahogany, giving the DR-100 balanced expression, warm bass, and excellent projection. Rosewood Fingerboard with Dot Inlays The fingerboard of the DR-100 is constructed from rosewood. The resilience of this durable wood makes the fingerboard extremely balanced and stable, and gives each chord and note clarity and bite. Angled Headstock Unlike cheaper designs, all Epiphones feature a 14-degree headstock that gives you more pressure at the nut and so you get more sustain with less tuning hang-ups caused by "string-tree" gadgets. | Customer Reviews: Best guitar for the money July 2, 2010 Philip Scott Wikel (Ojai, CA) After speaking with several musicians and doing more research on this than I've ever done before, I have to say you can't go wrong with this little black beauty.
Okay beginner's guitar January 25, 2010 Busy Person (NY, United States) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I haven't played guitar for about 20 years and wanted to pick up something to re-learn. So, this was a good choice for the price. It has little adjustment flexibility and one string broke within the first 24 hours. Not sure, yet, that it's a keeper, but I have only owned this for 48 hours. I would have preferred being shown other acoustic guitars in the $100-$250 price range, to see if I would have enjoyed playing another guitar more. The neck on this remains wide; perhaps I would have done better with one that is narrower. My hands are becoming arthritic and it's hard for them to get into position for chords. Since I bought a Service Plan, I'm hoping the store will let me trade up to something more usable for my hands. Any suggestions?
Decent guitar October 2, 2009 mozbrooklyn (KY) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It looks like a guitar, sounds like a guitar, and plays like a guitar. I bought it to use until I got something better, but it sounds good enough to use for a long time. It will need to be adjusted as it came with the action on the high end and the strings will need to be replaced.
