3 out of 5 stars Unable to actually use the strap   March 22, 2010
Ashia Mann
I purchased this guitar for a 2 year old specifically because he wanted a guitar with a strap.
While this guitar is not ideal for actually playing music since the strings wont stay tuned, it was really just for holding and pretending to 'rock out'. It came with the flimsy gig bag and other accessories but the fact that this instrument does not have a peg on the bottom on which i could actually attach the strap, renders it basically unusable- unless of course i drop another 8 or 9 dollars on the peg at a guitar store, and install it myself. For that price difference, i could have bought a better product with a ready to use strap.
Disappointed in the lack of candor from this seller.

1 out of 5 stars This guitar is CRAP!!   January 7, 2010

My son was given this guitar for christmas and when he took it out of the box it was great! He was so excited, he strummed the guitar about 4x and then the handle of the guitar actually just cracked right off, he didn't slam it or anything. He tightened the strings just slightly and that was it, guitar broken. So, the day after christmas I had to go buy him a nice guitar for just $5 more from toysrus and this guitar is working great and providing alot of fun!

4 out of 5 stars Great for very young and inexperienced   December 23, 2008

My son is almost 3 and always wants to play my guitar. He strums it, loosens the strings daily and knocks it around (unintentionally). However, he also has a lot of fun hearing sounds come out of the "hollow" guitar and singing all sorts of songs (including, I'm leaving on a jet plane) quite fun to watch/hear. Of course, I'm a bit tired of the beatings my guitar takes and thought this would be great for him. It is. He has no experience, is very young, loves the idea of his very own "little guitar" and plays all the time. It is not perfect and if you are buying one for a younger child to actually take lessons and learn, then maybe this isn't the right one for you. The strings do not stay tightened. Not because of the strings, but because of the design -- it is not a crank-and-gear type head, it is just a twisting pin. this can be rigged to work fine though. For the casual and untrained player -- go for it, it's great. When my son is a bit older and wants to take lessons, I'll get him a proper guitar.

I may just need to buy another guitar. So one can be at their house and one for here. It is a very nice little guitar - better than I expected for the money.

1 out of 5 stars what a disappointment   January 15, 2007

This is some pretty firewood. It does not stay in tune, nor will it play as a real guitar. This is strictly a toy and should not be purchased if you want your child to start learning how to play. I was really dissappointed when I got it out of its box.
