4 out of 5 stars Good for the money   March 27, 2010

If you're looking for your first guitar, it'll do.

I thought mine had a scratch on the pick guard when it came. I eventually realized there was a protective film (clear plastic like on a new watch) that came covering the guard, and the scratch was only on that.

It's cheap and the action is a little high for a newbie (the strings are higher off the fret board which makes learning the guitar even more painful). I couldn't get the 2nd string to sound right. I thought it was because I'm suck at guitar, but I bought new strings anyway and put them on myself and now it sounds great. I think I might have damaged the strings when I was opening the package.

Overall I'm happy and would recommend this to anyone who just wants to test the waters and see if the whole "guitar thing" sticks.

Oh yeah, left handed ... blah blah blah

4 out of 5 stars Pefect for the beginner guitarist   March 16, 2010

I've been playing classical nylon sting guitars for 4 decades and wanted to "experiment" with acoutics. My main desire was to compare the sound and style of this music venue. I'm getting used to playing steel strings and stuggling with the narrower neck, but this instrument has great sound quality and holds tune amazingly well for being so new. I have the same problem with the pick guard cosmetics and there's some blemishes in the finishes I would prefer didn't exist. Thought of sending it back, but for $80 delivered and with such great sound I know this will fullfill my buying criteria perfectly. I can't believe the price:performance ratio this instrument delivers.

I love the calming sound this guitar makes. It sounds absolutely great for the price and is becoming a joy to have around and play. I highly recommend this guitar if you are brand new to pick up one just like me.

1 out of 5 stars Review of Rogue Guitar   February 20, 2010

I purchased the Rogue left handed guitar for my teenage son. When it arrived, I was somewhat surprised that it came in a brown box with no advertising or graphics. When I opened the box, I immediately notice that the pick guard had a large scratch in it and that overall the pitch guard looked used. I called Musician's Friend and they readily accepted it back and apologized. I then repurchased another Rogue left handed guitar, along with a $9.99 warranty that they talked me into. The second Rogue guitar arrived and amazingly, it was also used and had several cuts in the pick guard. I have reported this seller to Amazon.com and the Kansas Attorney General. I would stay away from this company altogether.

5 out of 5 stars Great value, good guitar for lefties   September 8, 2009

I am a beginner left handed guitarist and this is a great guitar. There is a limited selection for lefties and often there is a premium price for a left-handed guitar. The guitar arrived in great condition and came with decent strings already on the guitar.

The guitar quickly tuned and holds tune well (based on an hour of practice per day). The fit and finish of the guitar is very nice; there are no obvious defects.

The sound is really nice and is similar to the $300 guitars that I tried at the music store.

This is a great deal for a left-handed guitar
