Product Description The Washburn Oscar Schmidt 3/4 Size Steel String Dreadnought Guitar is great for youngsters who are beginning to play or for professionals that want a smaller guitar to travel with. It is also a great size guitar for grown women and men who want a smaller guitar, which is more comfortable to play than the full size guitars. It tunes easily and sounds very good. It is easy to play for smaller hands yet frets well and remains true for the seasoned player. What is so attractive about this guitar is that it is the same shape as the big guitars but it is simply a scaled down model. It has a great sounding select spruce top, Mahogany back and sides with a rosewood bridge and fingerboard. It has real Classical Tuners and the Mahogany Neck has an easy action. Select Flame Maple Top Standard X Bracing 13.75 Lower bout 10.25 Upper bout 3.5 to 4.25 Body depth 17.5 Body length 1.5 Nut width 21.75 Scale length 35.5 Total length Perfect for children and beginners

High quality for the money July 21, 2010 D. A. Kuntze (Dallas,Tejas!) Washburn's economy line by OS has suprisingly good build quality. This guitar is a good bet for smaller players. Straight out of the box it has good action, killer finish, high quality tuners and nice detail work. This is better than eny sub $100 guitar i have bought. Its a 3/4 size neck is too small for grown ups, thats obvious.
Excellent for the money July 9, 2010 M. Stewart (Circle City, USA) I just received the guitar today. I have many acoustic guitars in my collection, although this makes the first in my daughters'! I tuned it up and went to playing. The action is fine and the short scale will make it a great learning instrument for them. It has a suprisingly full sound and I am quite impressed. I've played the Baby Taylor and also found it impressive, but not for triple the cost. This is nicer than expected.
A beautiful little guitar! February 6, 2010 K. Anderson (Minneapolis, MN) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
My daughter loves this guitar! The wood is beautiful and it's a real guitar, not a toy-- It holds the tuning and has decent strings, not plastic. I know nothing about guitars but my daughter wanted one for her 10th birthday, so I researched online what size I should get. When I ordered it I felt like I should cross my fingers! But the 3/4 size is perfect for an average 10 yr old, even for a few more years. The fact that it's a nice instrument makes it fun for her to practice. I also bought a kids' beginner guitar course book w/ cd and she went thru that in 1 day, but she's had piano and violin. Another note, I'm not sure how to attach a strap to the guitar but she doesn't stand up to play yet, anyway.
GUITAR IS OK BUT WILL NOT FIND A GIG BAG FOR IT January 28, 2010 STACKY71 (PA USA) 1 out of 11 found this review helpful
Oscar Schmidt OG1 3/4 Size Guitar
I contacted Oscar Schmidt and these are the responses i got from a sales guy that knows nothing!!!! STAY AWAY AND BUY ANOTHER BRAND GUITAR! "FENDER MAYBE"
No, I'm afraid we do not manufacture a specific ¾ size gigbag for this guitar, or most of the Oscar Schmidt line honestly.
Thanks,

Unfortunately, we've never offerered cases or gigbags for just about any of the guitars in the Oscar Schmidt product line. I can't be sure which 3rd party case manufacturer might make a gigbag that would work for it, because I'm not familiar with their products, I apologize.
Thanks,

This is a perfectly ample instrument for a beginner. It hold its tune and sounds fine. For the money, you can't beat it.
